The US Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin wins today’s Ladies Slalom race in Lienz, Austria, after two flawless runs which saw her leaving behind Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova by 0.61 seconds and and Swiss Michelle Gisin by 1.72 seconds respectively.
Shiffrin, who finished the first run ahead of Vlhova, won slalom to make it back to back victories in just two days in the Lienz ski resort of Ost Tirol following her win in Giant Slalom on Saturday. Shiffrin edged out Italian Marta Bassino and Austrian Katharina Liensberger in yesterday’s GS on the same course.
With today’s slalom win Shiffrin achieved her 64th victory throughout her career and 14th successive Slalom podium.
The Women’s World Cup will move to Zagreb, Croatia, on January 4-5 with two Slalom races on the program.
