Petra Vlhova wins Giant Slalom at Semmering

Semmering (KDN) – Petra Vlhova of Slovakia gets her maiden victory in FIS Audi Ski World Cup Ladies Giant Slalom at Austria’s Ski Resort of Semmering in the Alps Friday. It was not only Vlhova’s first but the first World Cup podium and win in giant slalom for a Slovakia ski racer.

Vlhova, who finished first run forth, produced a flawless second run by clocking a total time of 2 minutes 04:72 seconds to cling her first victory in the discipline. Germany’s Victory Rebensburg finished second trailing Vlhova by 0.40 seconds while French ski star Tessa Worley came third with 0.60 seconds behind. FIS Ski World Cup will continue with Ladies Slalom scheduled for Saturday.
