FLACHAU (KDN) – Mikaela Shiffrin, the World Cup Overall leader in Alpine Skiing, won her fifth slalom race in a row on Tuesday, under the floodlights of Austria’s ski resort of Flachau, edging out her closest rivals once again.

Shiffrin, 22, who finished first run 0.37 seconds behind Austria’s Bernadette Schild seemed to be determined for a new victory. She aggressively attacked the slalom gates from the start to the finish line to cling her 8th win of the season by clocking a total time of 1:50,89 seconds.

Austria’s Bernadette Shild despite leading the race after the first run came second trailing Shiffrin by 0.94 seconds. Sweden’s Frida Hansdotter finished third lagging 1.43 seconds behind the leader.
