Leinz (KDN) – Tomorrow the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup returns to Austria’s snow-cowered slopes of Lienz in Ost Tirol for Ladies’ Giant Slalom and Slalom competitions.
Located at the confluence of the rivers of Isle and Drava in the Eastern Alps, between the Hohe Tauern mountains in the north, and Gailtal in the south, Lienz offers a combination of long and well-prepared ski courses of more than 100 kilometres served by dozens of modern lifts.
The world’s most successful women skiers will hit the slopes on Lienz’s Schlossberg Mountain just 5 weeks before Winter Olympics in South Korea.
The Ladies’ Giant Slalom is scheduled for December 28 while a Slalom is on the FIS program for December 29. In both races, the World Cup overall leader Mikaela Shiffrin from the United States’ Ski team is the favourite.
