Pro-Kurdish HDP appoints Urfa MP Baydemir as new spokesperson

ANKARA – Pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Central Executive Committee met in early Friday at party’s headquarters in Ankara. The committee had the referendum and Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ being stripped of her parliamentary status on the agenda.

In the meeting, the positions vacated by arrests were also filled. Urfa MP Osman Baydemir was appointed in place of party spokesperson Ayhan Bilgen, who was arrested on January 31.
