Mikaela Shiffrin wins Semmering night slalom in stunning style

SEMMERING (KDN) – Mikaela Shiffrin raced to her third win in just three days in Semmering, Austria, in Thursday’s ladies final slalom competition of 2016.

The overall World Cup leader Shiffrin clocked a total time of 1,40.06 minutes to edge out Veronika Velez Zuzulova from Slovakia and Wendy Holdener of Switzerland. Shiffrin, who has dominated this year’s Semmering races expanded her lead in overall standings over her closest rival Lara Gut of Swiss team by 215 points.

Croatia’s capital Zagreb is the next destination of the ladies and men’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup Tour, with a night slalom scheduled for ladies on the 2nd and men on the 5th January to celebrate the 50 years of the FIS Ski World Cup.
