GEVER (KDN) – Four Kurdish civilians were killed and three others were wounded by Turkish police in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari on Oct. 8.
Gunshots were heard in the district around 10:50 a.m. local sources told Kurdish Daily News. It was determined that Turkish police fired at Kurdish civilians randomly.
Seven people were taken to Yüksekova State Hospital, four of the people receiving treatment succumbed to their wounds.
A local Kurdish politician told ANF News Agency on the incident and stated the followings: “The Governor has admitted that police raked the people with bullets. All of them were shot fatally in the head, as is also confirmed by witnesses. The Governor told Hakkari MP Selma Irmak that a policeman has been taken into custody after the incident. Police killed people deliberately without any discussion or quarrel taking place.”
