Two major parties in South Kurdistan, PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) and Goran (Change) Movement, have signed the long controversial agreement in Sulaimani today.
The agreement has been signed in the wake of talks that continued between two sides for a while. The signing ceremony was attended by PUK Secretary General Jalal Talabani, PUK Deputy Secretary General Qosret Resul and Goran Movement’s President Newshirwan Mustafa.
The agreement reportedly involves titles such as participation in elections with a single list, preparation of a constitution and functionalisation of the parliament. Details of the agreement will reportedly be made public at a press conference in Sulaimani today afternoon.
