HPG: 7 Turkish soldiers killed in Oremar and Silvan

BEHDINAN (ANF) – HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Press Office has reported guerrilla action in Oremar and ongoing Turkish military operation and clash in Silvan.

According to the written statement by HPG, guerrillas conducted an action against Zeytê outpost in Oremar area of Hakkari’s Yüksekova (Gever) district at 13:00 on March 25. Guerrillas hit the soldiers standing guard in front of the outpost’s main entrance, as a result of which a total of 5 soldiers include one high-ranking were killed. Troops at Zeytê and Mamreş outposts bombarded Mêrgê, Dola Zeytê and Ronahi hills till 17:00 in the evening.

HPG continued, reporting about the operation in Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed.

Accordingly, Turkish military deployed troops on Haci Çerkez, Önce Vatan and Zivetirk hills of Farqin at 01:30 on March 25. A guerrilla unit passing by this area at 05:30 in the morning was noticed by guerrillas, which resulted in a clash that didn’t last long. HPG said a guerrilla by the name of Çekdar Şax fell fighting here, adding that his ID details will be announced later.

Guerrillas conducted another action against a Turkish troop in the same area at 09:20, which left 2 soldiers, one of them high-ranking, dead. Turkish troops and helicopters shelled the area with mortars after the action.

Turkish troops trying to retrieve the casualties at noon were also hit by guerrillas, as a result of which 2 village guards got wounded.
