Explosion in Qamishlo leaves 3 civilians dead, 7 wounded

QAMISHLO (ANF) – A huge explosion has occurred near the Miami Cafe in Rojava’s Qamishlo city Sunday evening.

The explosion which was reportedly caused by detonation of explosives placed on a motorbike hit Necmê Cafe in Wusta neighborhood of Qamishlo city. Three civilians have died and seven others were wounded in the explosion. Casualties have been taken to Selam Hospital in the city.

While Kurdish Charity Heyva Sor has undertaken the treatment of the wounded, asayish units have taken security measures at the scene and started an investigation.

A previous bomb attack in the mainly Christian neighborhood of Wusta hit Miami and Gabriel restaurants on 30 December 2015, leaving a total of 11 people dead.
