IHD: 162 Kurdish civilians have died in ongoing conflict between Kurdish forces and Turkey

AMED (KDN) — Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (IHD) says as many as 162 civilians have lost their lives since August, caught up in the increased fighting between Turkish government forces and Kurdish youth movement in urban districts.

The Turkish Human Rights Foundation said late Saturday that 32 children, 29 women and 24 elderly people were among civilians killed in districts where the Turkish authorities have imposed 24-hour curfews.

The conflict between Kurdish forces and Turkish state resumed in July, shattering a two-year-old peace process.
