Breaking: Kurdish forces shot down a Cobra helicopter in Tendurek mountains

AGRI (KDN) – Kurdish forces say to have shot down a cobra helicopter of Turkish army on September 17, in the Tendurek mountains in Kurdish Agri province bordering Armenia.

According to report published by Peoples’ Defense Forces (HPG), Turkish army attempted to conduct an operation against Kurdish forces around Tendurek mountain range in Agri province on September 17. Turkish armed forces used Cobra and Sikorsky helicopters to deploy soldiers into the region, however, failed to advance after helicopters came under fire by Kurdish forces. As a result, one of Cobra helicopters was hit by a rocket and crashed near Arnest village in Muradiye district. Two Turkish pilots killed in the incident. Clashes continue across the region, HPG said.
