Kurdish capital hit by suicide attack today

A suicide attack has left at least 5 people killed and 22 wounded in Kurdish capital city of Erbil, Iraq, when the assailant tried to drive his vehicle into the governorate building and was cut short by guards before it reached its target.

According to reports, today at around 11.55 a suicide bomber, driving a car loaded with explosions, tried to enter the headquarter of Arbil’s governorate. The attacker was stopped by security guards who noticed him before he reach the office building and was eliminated. However, the explosion of the car caused 5 deaths so far and 22 wounded, majority of them civilians.
